The Rinnegan, however, is the most powerful ocular jutsu that's known to exist in my world, and is only given to those who have met Hagoromo's chakra spirit and he chooses to gift it to them, or if someone somehow manages to get ahold of his and Inara's chakra in some way. The chakra concentrates in one or both eyes and gives the wielder the power to create new planets, new time dimensions, and travel through time and space.
Those who are not members of the Uchiha clan can get both the Sharingan or the Rinnegan, but it requires stealing the eyes of a user. Overuse can also cause injury to the optic nerves that it connects to and it can make the wielder go blind over time. The Eternal Mangekyō is a cure to this progression, but it's highly taboo, as it also requires stealing the eyes of another Mangekyō user. So my family spent a great deal of time either having to hide the status of our eyes, or fighting off enemies who tried to kill us for them, even within our own clan, though that was far more rare.
